Atelier Art Services, Inc. was established in November of 1986 by Hal Jones, a long time employee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Hal saw the need for a higher standard of quality control among art institutions and the industry alike, prompting the creation of Atelier. Since its 1986 inception Atelier has seen continual growth creating a regional stronghold with international status.
Atelier provides all aspects of art services including: installation, packing and crating, transportation, and storage. Atelier Art Services, Inc. began with the strategic vision to create the safest systems for the well being of fine arts and antiques. This vision led Atelier to create truly innovative systems for the packing and crating of fine arts utilizing new materials and techniques as well as creating higher standards for the transportation and installation of fine arts. Now, the once revolutionary practices of Atelier Art Services, Inc. have become the industry standard with both company and museum wide use.
Recognized for its excellence, Atelier Art Services serves the entire fine arts and antique industry, from the smallest individual collectors to the grandest international cultural institutions. Working directly with every major cultural institution in Philadelphia as well as a myriad of national and international institutions has allowed Atelier to be involved with some of the most prominent art moves of the century including: The Barnes Foundation’s only traveling exhibit to ever leave the museum, the recent exhibit for the Ben Franklin Tercentenary, The Gross Clinic, The Franklin Clock, The Pennsylvania Historical Society relocations, the Declaration of Independence relocation, many of the Philadelphia Museum of Arts major relocations and exhibits, the Winterthur Museum relocation, The University of Pennsylvania Museum’s “Treasures of Ur” exhibit, the Rittenhouse Clock, and currently the Tut Exhibit at the Franklin Institute, to name a few.
Atelier Art Services currently provides the Philadelphia community with art storage (both climate and non-climate), while focusing its core business on the service market of the industry. Atelier now sees the need to provide the community with fine art storage and is ramping up through the creation of its sister company Atelier Art Storage, LLC to pursue this market. Atelier Art Storage plans to gain a stronghold of the market by strategically locating the facility within close proximity to Philadelphia’s major cultural institutions while incorporating a first to market strategy.
It’s all about you.
